Dachigam National Park Tour โ The stateโs most scenic park, Dachigam is popular for the endangered Hangul or Kashmir stag โ the only species of red deer found in India. The park is located 22 km from Srinagar, covering an area of โโover 141 sq km. The real beauty of the park lies in the deep gorges, rocky outcrops, steep wooded slopes and alpine pastures.
- Day 1: Arrive Srinagar Meet on arrival at Srinagar Airport, transfer to Houseboat and check-in at houseboat. Rest day free for independent activity. Overnight at the houseboat.
- Day 2: Srinagar After breakfast take a ride to Shikara on the Dal Lake. Its one of the most peaceful & relaxing aspects in Kashmir. Later visit Nishat Bagh which was built by Asif Khan in 1632 AD. Asif Khan is the brother in law of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Also visit the delightful Shalimar Bagh. Shalimar Bagh was built by Jahangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. This gardens situated on the bank of Dal Lake, have the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is near about 12 and 15 kms respectively. Overnight at the Houseboat.
- Day 3 Srinagar - Sonmarg โ Srinagar After breakfast take a ride to Shikara on the Dal Lake. Later Sonmarg for full day excursion tour Sonmarg โ It is a place of enthralling beauty, lies in Sindh Valley, streamed with flowers, surrounded by mountains and perched at an altitude of 2690 m above sea level. It is a quiet alpine retreat surrounded with sycamore, silver birch, fir and pine trees and the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh. It is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lakes. Afternoon enjoy Horse ride at Sonmarg (Optional). Later drive back from Sonmarg to Srinagar. Overnight at the houseboat.
- Day 4 Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar After breakfast drive to Gulmarg โ Gulmarg was discovered as a tourist destination by the British in the 19th century. Prior to that, Mughal emperors vacationed in the Gulmarg valley which is about 03 kms long and up-to 01 km wide. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. Later drive back to Srinagar. Overnight at the houseboat.
- Day 5 Srinagar - Pahalgam - Srinagar After breakfast excursion to Pahalgam, en-route visit Saffron fields of Pampora, Awantipura ruins and see the beautiful countryside. Continue drive to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds) through the dense pine forest, the confluence of the streams flowing from the river Lidder & Sheshnag Lake, those are the famous for their picturesque beauty. Afternoon enjoy Horse ride at Pahalgam. Later drive back to Srinagar. Overnight at the houseboat.
- Day 6 Srinagar - Dachigam - Srinagar After breakfast excursion to Dachigam National Park. Dachigam National Park is situated around 22kms North-East of Srinagar. It was the private hunting grounds of Maharaja Gulab Singh. Dachigam National Park is divided into two areas the lower and upper Dachigam. The best time to be in Dachigam National Park is when spring has just arrived with its pastel colors and blossoms of apricots, peaches and plums. Enjoy the safari at Dachigam National Park. Later drive back to Srinagar. Overnight at the houseboat.
- Day 7 Srinagar Departure After breakfast transfer to Airport for your onward destination.
