Overview

Yamunotri Gangotri Pilgrimage Tour – Gangotri and Yamunotri are very important places according to Hindu mythology. Both the places have their own different mythological background. Located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, both these places are do Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand. Yamunotri is considered the second most sacred river of India and is also the first destination of the yatra. It is believed that by taking a bath in this river all your sins are washed away and you attain salvation. The temple has shrines of Yamuna Devi and Ganga Devi. Gangotri Dham is dedicated to Goddess Ganga who incarnated on earth to wash away all the sins of mankind.

Itinerary

• Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar (205 kms / 6 hrs)
• Day 02: Haridwar – Barkot (220 kms / 7 hrs)
  • After breakfast, drive to Barkot via Dehradun and Mussoorie.
  • Enroute visit Kempty Fall.
  • Continue drive to Barkot, a small town in Uttarkashi district, situated on the banks of the Yamuna River.
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Overnight at hotel.
• Day 03: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (42 kms Drive + 06 kms Trek)
  • After breakfast, drive to Janki Chatti.
  • Start trekking to Yamunotri (3,293m), one of the Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage sites and the source of the Yamuna River.
  • Visit Yamunotri Temple for darshan.
  • Trek down to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot.
  • Overnight at hotel.
• Day 04: Barkot – Uttarkashi (82 kms / 04 hrs)
  • After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi, a town situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River (1352m above sea level).
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Evening visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Shakti Temple.
  • Overnight at hotel.
• Day 05: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 kms / 04 hrs)
  • After early breakfast, leave for a day tour to Gangotri via Harsil.
  • Visit Gangotri Temple, believed to be the origin of the holy River Ganges.
  • Afternoon prayers and darshan.
  • Return to Uttarkashi.
  • Overnight at hotel.
• Day 06: Uttarkashi – Rishikesh (167 kms / 05 hrs)
  • After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, a spiritual and adventure hub.
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Evening visit to Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula.
  • Overnight at hotel.
• Day 07: Rishikesh – Haridwar – Delhi (224 kms / 7 hrs)
  • After breakfast, drive to Delhi.
  • On arrival, transfer to railway station/airport for onward journey.
